MAKING EU DATA CONVERSATIONAL: NATURAL LANGUAGE INTERFACES TO ACCESS PUBLIC DATA AND SERVICES
£15.00
Description
How can citizens, businesses, and policymakers access complex EU data and services as easily as having a conversation? This session explores how the Publications Office and more broadly the European Commission is making trusted public information truly conversational through natural language user interfaces. Drawing on concrete EU projects such as interoperable public-sector chatbots, EU data assistants, and conversational access to official publications, the talk will showcase how AI-powered interfaces are transforming access to trusted public data and digital services. It will also highlight emerging use cases within the European Commission, including multilingual semantic tools or automatic classification, illustrating how large language models and AI can be adopted deployed responsibly in a public administration context. Participants will gain insights into design choices, interoperability, multilingualism, trust, and governance—key factors for scaling conversational AI across public institutions in Europe.
