Oyinkansola Onwuchekwa is a PhD researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at the University of Hull, where she specialises in multilingual NLP, emotion recognition in music lyrics from low-resource languages, retrieval-augmented generation, and bias mitigation for low-resource African languages. Awarded the Advance HE Associate Fellowship (AFHEA), she has delivered invited talks at PyCon Lithuania, Pint of Science UK, and co-organised DAIM’s first student-led AI conference. As a British Academy ODA Research Assistant, she co-develops AI literacy toolkits for rural Burkina Faso and fine-tuned Stable Diffusion on cultural heritage imagery. Oyinkansola also balances a parallel career as “KKC,” a musician with 500+ written songs and a 2024 EP release. She brings a unique blend of academic rigour, community engagement, and creative insight to every project.
