Staffan Larsson is co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Talkamatic AB, as well as professor of Computational Linguistics at the Department of Philosophy, Linguistics and Theory of Science at the University of Gothenburg. His research covers conversational AI, the semantics and pragmatics of human language use in interaction, language and cognition, formal semantics, and semantic coordination in dialogue. Larsson is co-initiator (with David Traum, USC) of the highly influential Information State Update (ISU) approach to dialogue management and conversational AI. He has also worked extensively on a cognitively oriented approach to meaning and semantic learning (TTR)
